You are allowed to call us jackasses for having a contrasting opinion, but calling a woman a name is misogyny?

I’M ignorant?

You cut out the part of the sentence which negates your point:

“The bottom line of my post is that a woman could not even share the experience of feeling harassed and endangered without a myriad of attacks, many of which included insults to her intelligence and derogatory words.”

I only pointed out that many of the comments contained hateful language and indications that her opinion made her stupid. I in no way indicated that their use of derogatory language was what made them mysogynists. In fact, that only reason I mentioned the language they used was because it demonstrates their inarticulate anger. They provided no rational response as to why her complaint angered them.

I should have been more clear in my use of the word “jackass” as I was refering to those who claim to hate feminism and feminists based on the claim that “feminists hate men and the entire purpose of feminism is to shit on men etc. etc.” You make a good point that I should be more specific when referring to who I think is a jackass. However that does not justify you applying the label “feminist,” thereby encompassing anybody who identifies with the label, to the stereotypical idea that all feminists call any derogatory language used against them “mysogyny.”

Also, I did not say you were ignorant. I said that the idea that all feminists claim derogatory language as mysogyny is ignorant.

It didn’t negate my point.(Side note: I only even cut the rest of the sentence out because I couldn’t figure out where else to begin it. Didn’t want it to be too long, but there was no where else to cut it without making it unreadable.)
A man stated “quit being a little bitch”(and whatever the hell else). You attached a label to those statements calling them “misogynistic”. Misogyny according to the dictionary: “the hatred of women by men”. Why did calling her a “bitch” mean that he hated women? Why did it not mean that he thought she was being an idiot on the basis of her being an individual? Wild guess: the same guy probably would have said the exact same thing if a man posted it. But he disagreed with her and thus, it’s misogyny. Yes, he was an asshole about it. Sure, he gave no rational response.  But again… ”the hatred of women by men”. Nothing in the post insinuated a belief regarding women— JUST her. You generalized their beliefs based on a single statement; having no further concept of their character or beliefs/opinions, and attached “misogyny” to them all. It is ignorance to assume all feminists act in one way but it is not to judge a person based on one statement? You did not even debate with these people.

Furthermore, I’m basing my beliefs on what I see. And recently, much of what I have seen from feminism is feminists attacking(with derogatory language!) men who happen to make any kind of derogatory comment to a woman… and claiming misogyny. If that is NOT what defines feminism then why are the other feminists not commenting on it? If I believe from what I’ve seen—and according to you, that is not feminism— then said feminists are CLEARLY giving the wrong impression. And yet I do not hear a single thing about it from feminists. They are being rude, uncivil, and hypocritical.
The very post that we are arguing on was ironically attacking men for feeling attacked! Feminism is equality? Well apparently men do not have the same right to feel attacked. And these feminists I speak of are slandering men who attack women. That is pure hypocrisy, sorry to say. 

You claimed later “No matter how many people disagree there are five people hateful and ignorant enough to make those comments. That is a problem and it needs to be addressed.”
According to that, any feminists who act in the way I have stated should be addressed, seeing as they are falsely representing what you claim feminism is. But if feminism is truly good, why is it ignoring it’s own members who do such things?

In any case, we can continue this conversation elsewhere. I would prefer not to do this publicly if you don’t mind. Please.
